£8.95 Scientific Passenger Pod #18 10 x 8 B/W Glossy NASA Photograph NASA No. PL64-78433 12 February 1964 In Hangar H at the Cape is Scientific Passenger Pod #18 without its instrument cover in place. This pod holds all the scientific instruments for a Re-entry test launch and will be attached to an Atlas E rocket at Launch Complex 11. Atlas E 5E - ABRES WAC-3 - Re-entry Vehicle Test was launched from LC-11 on 25 February 1964. The test was successful as the Atlas E reached Apogee 900 miles (1,600 km). Afterwards the Pod was retrieved along with it flight data. This very fine vintage NASA glossy photo is in near mint condition. |
